Strange Stories
For
years Cameron has been fascinated with obsessions, outlaws, sideshows.
And the absurd grotesqueness of human existence.
He creates a cocktail of these subjects with folk tales, urban legends and the
supernatural.
Satirical
expressions, though sometimes quite dark, unfolds into exaggerated vibrant environments.
Inhabited by cartoonish entities that arise from this darkness.
Giving devine status to morally stigmatized beings of our world.
Injecting them with sexual prowess and historical importance.
Through
out his life Cameron sparks colorful projects:
performances, theatre, music, poetry, films,
backdrops, illustrations.
But visual arts remain his first love.
Much
of the contemplation of life and death comes from his childhood.
Living on a sheep farm in a remote Australian desert.
These visions reflect the narrative element in his artwork.
Nowadays still fascinated with painting strange stories.
Razzle
and dazzle is locked in a case a mask is pulled from a face
Lights fade down to an empty black nothing now
Curtains hang them selves down until the ground
